The Macau Government Tourism Authority (MGTO) has released official visitor data from December 31 to January 3. The number of visitors to Macau for the New Year decreased compared to the average daily figure for Christmas.
According to official data from the Macau Government Tourism Authority (MGTO), the average daily number of visitors arriving between December 31 and January 3 was 21,242.
MGTO also showed that the average daily number of visitors registered during the “New Year” break is 13.3% less compared to the “Christmas” season (from December 23 to December 27 inclusive) – and 1% compared to the average daily visitor arrival for the full December.
According to the data, 92.4% of visitors to Macau on average from December 31 to January 3, or 19,629 people per day, were from mainland China.
The average occupancy rate of Macau hotels, including guest houses, reached 67.2% during this period.
The average occupancy rate of Macau’s three four – and five-star hotels during the reporting period was 73 per cent, 69.9 per cent and 67.6 per cent, respectively.
The average room rate in Macau hotels and guest houses charged during the New Year holidays was 1,127. 6 Macao patak (US $ 141.2).
The average price per night for three-star hotels during the holiday period was 694.2 patak Macau, while for five – star hotels it was 1,447.7 patak Macau, and for four-star hotels-701.1 patak.
