The Arkansas Racing Commission is considering adopting rule changes to allow mobile sports wagering. The commission will run a 30-day public comment period on proposed rule changes published on its website ahead of the next commission meeting on December 30.
Sports betting became legal in Arkansas in 2019 but only at physical retail sportsbooks. Proposed rule changes would allow each casino licensee to provide up to two individually branded online sports platforms, each with a mobile app. Each step of the process will need the approval of the Racing Commission.
Another proposal is to allow each casino licensee to provide an individually branded online sports pool platform. If commissioners approve the proposed rule changes, a state legislative committee would have to give final approval before online wagering becomes legal in the state.
