888 Holdings to Rebrand New Jersey Platform to SI Sportsbook

Last week 888sport’s New Jersey website went down and nobody knew why – was it good or bad?

The verdict is in: a resounding good. Gaming America has since discovered that 888 Holdings will be expanding its strategic partnership with Sports Illustrated. The site was only down because it was preparing to launch SI Sportsbook into the market. And it’s not just the Garden State: 888 is looking to launch SI Sportsbook in other states as well.

While it has not yet gone live in New Jersey, it did in Colorado in September of this year, a move which appears to have gone well.

According to John Atkinson, Director of Business Development at 888 Holdings:

“Since its launch in Colorado in September, SI Sportsbook’s differentiated wagering experience, which combines 888’s proprietary technology and one of the most influential sports media brands, has been extremely well received, with positive customer feedback from players across the state.
We are now focused on launching SI Sportsbook in other states, including New Jersey, and are excited to share more details in the coming weeks and months.”

The SI Sportsbook/888 platform, purpose built for the American market, was released in Colorado in September to meet the rush of demand in anticipation of the football season. The platform will be powered by official data from professional leagues such as the NBA, MLB, NHL, NFL, NASCAR, and the English Premier League and hopes to exploit the vast audience of Sports Illustrated (30 million unique monthly users).
